Leave of Absence During Term Time
Regular attendance is essential to children’s learning, wellbeing and progress. Families should avoid arranging holidays or other unnecessary absences during term time. In line with national guidance, leave of absence will only be authorised in exceptional circumstances, with each request considered individually by the Headteacher. Family holidays and other absences for leisure or recreation would not normally be considered exceptional circumstances.
If you need to request leave for your child during term time, please complete our Leave of Absence Request Form and return it to the school office in advance of the proposed absence. Submitting a request does not mean that the absence has been authorised. Unauthorised absence may result in further action, including a penalty notice where the national threshold is met.
If you are experiencing difficulties with your child’s attendance, please contact the school. We will always work with families to understand any barriers and offer support where we can.
