Our Values and Ethos

At Greenside, our values sit at the heart of everything we do. We are a warm and inclusive school where children feel safe, happy and ready to learn. Guided by our four BEs: Be Kind, Be Ready, Be Respectful and Be Safe, we create a culture built on care, high expectations and positive relationships.

We believe that children learn best in calm, predictable and supportive environments. Our classrooms are thoughtfully organised to help pupils feel secure, focused and confident. Staff model positive behaviour, teach routines clearly and use restorative approaches to help children reflect, repair and grow. We understand that behaviour is communication, and we respond with empathy and consistency so that every pupil feels understood and supported.

Our ethos of Inspire, Nurture and Challenge runs through daily life at Greenside. We aim to motivate our pupils with exciting learning experiences, nurture their wellbeing and independence, and challenge them to become resilient, thoughtful and responsible members of our community. Through our PSHCE curriculum and our emphasis on emotional literacy, we help pupils understand themselves, show kindness to others and develop the confidence to make positive choices.
